Speakers (besides us) included Anne, Emily Colless, who is the Regional Services Manager for NSW Farmers, and Bevan O'Regan who is a long serving Councillor (and former Mayor) on Narrabri Council. Bevan has been a strong advocate for a moratorium on coal seam gas mining and addressed the meeting in a private capacity.
The forum attracted a good cross-section of the Coonamble local community including both town residents and rural landowners.
After the meeting we headed out to Anne and her husband Neil's property where they kindly put us up.
The legendary hospitality of country people has certainly been reinforced during our trip.
